Fortinet Cup Championship coming to TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley

TPC Toronto to host the PGA TOUR Americas’ 2024 season finale where 10 Korn Ferry Tour cards will be awarded

Caledon, Ont. – The Fortinet Cup Championship, PGA TOUR Americas’ season-ending event and the conclusion of the race for the Fortinet Cup, will be coming to TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley in 2024, the PGA TOUR announced Tuesday.

The event will take place September 2-8 on TPC Toronto’s newly renovated North course. The top 120 players in the Fortinet Cup Standings following the CRMC Championship will earn a spot in the field to compete for the chance to earn a promotion to the Korn Ferry Tour, as well as a spot in the field at the PGA TOUR’s Fortinet Championship.

“We are delighted to bring the Fortinet Cup Championship to TPC Toronto, on the recently renovated North Course,” said Scott Pritchard, Vice President PGA TOUR Americas. “TPC Toronto will provide a formidable test and an amazing venue to award Korn Ferry Tour membership to the Tour's top performers. We are thankful for TPC Toronto’s continued partnership and know this event will be a highlight of the 2024 PGA TOUR Americas season.”

"We are very excited about the arrival of the Fortinet Cup Championship in Ontario this year. This event closes the season and showcases the top golfers in the race to the Fortinet Cup in the Americas,” stated Jack Pagano, Vice President of Central Canada at Fortinet. “This event will be the perfect opportunity to bring together our customers and partners to Toronto and provide them with the best of golf in Canada, as well as experience Fortinet's industry-leading cybersecurity technology and commitment to the local community, built on the foundation of 20 years of organic innovation developed in our major R&D centers in North America and Canada."

“As a company with a long track record of investments in Canada, we have established a strong presence and reputation as a cybersecurity trusted advisor,” said Marc Asturias, Vice President of Marketing and Government Vertical at Fortinet Canada, Latin America, and the Caribbean. “Our partnership with PGA TOUR Americas is aimed at showcasing the talents of early career professional golfers, positively impacting communities and local nonprofits across the Tour, as well as bringing value to Fortinet’s business customers and partners, given the importance of maintaining a focus on cybersecurity in today’s interconnected, technology-driven world. In the last two years, we brought together more than 600 technology leaders to share insights and a first-class golf experience.”

The Fortinet Cup Championship will see the return of action to TPC Toronto’s North course, which underwent renovation in 2023. Under the direction of architect Ian Andrew, the renovation transformed the course into a venue for high-level championship competition. The course is set to open in 2024, alongside TPC Toronto’s all-new amenities, which includes clubhouses, on-site accommodations and practice facilities.

The parkland-style North course, originally designed by Doug Carrick, will now measure close to 7,500 yards and features expanded fairway bunkering, shortgrass greenside runoff areas and tightened fairways among its significant changes. The North course previously hosted PGA TOUR Americas in 2018 and 2019 and saw current PGA TOUR players Tyler McCumber and Paul Barjon emerge victorious.

TPC Toronto will also serve as the event’s host organization, led by Tournament and Programming Director Brad Parkins. The Osprey Valley Open, PGA TOUR Americas’ annual event held at TPC Toronto, will take a one-year hiatus and return for the 2025 season.

“We are thrilled to host the season-ending Fortinet Cup Championship and showcase the newly renovated North course,” said Parkins. “Seeing the world’s top up-and-coming players compete at TPC Toronto is one of the highlights of each season for us, and we look forward to celebrating the conclusion of the race for the Fortinet Cup as players earn their promotions to the Korn Ferry Tour next September.”
